Close to 5,000 people from the New York area converged today on Kingston Avenue for the 3rd Annual Kosher Day, organized by the Jewish Children’s Museum.
The annual event, included back-to-back Uncle Moishy shows, puppet shows, a petting zoo and food stations for sampling Kosher foods from major food companies in the USA:
Gombo’s bakery – A Challah baking station; Kedem Wineries – Grape Juice cooler and a video on how wine is made; Devash Farms – Rosh Hashana workshop with apples and honey, greeting cards, and sample Apple Cider; Natural & Kosher – cheese tasting station and a wheel-of-fortune to win free cheese; Raskin’s Fish – Gefilte Fish tasting and a Tashlich contest; Reisman’s Cookies, Klein’s Ice Cream, Norman’s Dairy, Osem and others distributed sample food for the masses, while the Children’s Sefer Torah provided a spiritual oasis in the midst of the food-centered day.
