In an uplifting evening, filled with warmth and inspiration, many Crown Heightsers joined together in Empire Shtiebel for a joint siyum on Maseches Brachos as part of the Toras Chaim program, as well as an invigorating farbrengen in honor of the Chag Hageulah of the Frierdiker Rebbe.
Rabbi Mendy Oster, an avid participant of the Torah Chaim program, concluded the maseches and delivered the siyum.
In the course of the farbrengen, Rabbi Yoseph Yitzchak Paltiel gave over fascinating tidbits detailing the extraordinary story of the arrest and liberation of the Frierdiker Rebbe, as well as some of the history of the Frierdiker Rebbe in America.
He also emphasized the importance of learning nigleh d’Torah and encouraged those present to bolster their efforts in Limud HaTorah. Reinforcing that concept, Rabbi Gedaliah Oberlander, Rav of Heichal Menachem Kehila in Monsey, relayed a little-known response of the Rebbe that Hiskashrus comes from learning nigleh d’Torah.

Thanks to our partner, Merkaz Halacha, who is committed to strengthening Limud HaTorah, we are continuing the Torah Chaim program and will be starting Maseches Shabbos this week.
Toras Chaim has an easy to follow learning schedule which allows the entire Maseches Shabbos to be finished within a year. Once a month there’s a test on 10 dafim, as well as a section that tests on the previous dafim. Stipends are awarded to those scoring certain marks on each section independently.
On these auspicious days of Yud Beis – Yud Gimmel Tammuz, when the Frierdiker Rebbe asks that Chassidim strengthen fixed times for Limud HaTorah, here’s a great opportunity for YOU to fulfill his request!
