A 100-room hotel and event space is being planned for now-vacant commercial lot on Eastern Parkway that formerly housed a gas station, development plans filed with the city last week show.
The five-story building set to go up at 1550 Bedford Ave. will include hotel rooms, a banquet hall, a rooftop bar, and space for retail and restaurants, according to plans submitted on July 1 to the Department of Buildings by developers from All Year Management.
The company, using the name 1550 Bedford Ave LLC, bought the now-empty corner lot at Bedford Avenue and Eastern Parkway for $7.2 million in 2014 from Cumberland Farms, the convenient store and gas station chain, deeds show.
The new development will include 38,300 total square feet, with the banquet hall and retail space on the first floor, hotel rooms on the second, third and fourth stories, and a “retail bar” and public terrace on the fifth floor, the plans show.
All Year Management and its owner, Yoel Goldman, did not return requests for comment about the project.
This is not the company’s first hotel project in Brooklyn, according to a report about the Crown Heights development by The Real Deal. Last year, the site said the developer began work on a similarly sized hotel on White Street in Bushwick.
The long-empty Bedford Avenue lot is near a handful of other major developments already underway in Crown Heights, including an eight-story residential building under construction across the parkway on the site of another former gas station and the planned repurposing of the city-owned Bedford-Union Armory, located a block away from 1550 Bedford Ave.
