Oholei Yosef Yitzchok Lubavitch of Crown Heights just marked the completion of their 10th year of operation. Families, students, and educators gathered to mark this important milestone. Students received certificates of completion as well as other graduation gifts, and prizes.

OYYL Educators and staff members received appreciation gifts for their outstanding care and dedication.

“This year was a very testing time for our community and the world at large.” Says Mila Schneiderman, founder and director- ‘We are very touched with the full readiness and creativity of our educational team to create and sustain an amazingly warm and pleasant environment online and in-person sessions. We are very thankful to our parents and donors for their involvement and support we received. We feel very privileged to serve this community for the past decade and look forward for the upcoming 11th year full of enthusiasm. As our Rebbe teaches us about the unique miraculous properties of number 11, we are more than ever ready to embrace the upcoming miracles in further expanding our boys’ and girls’ programs, opening new classrooms, as well as refining learning materials and implementing new chinuch strategies.”

“It was very special to see all parents and educators gather together to mark this event”, says Leah Goldshtein, Preschool Director. “We are very excited and look forward to many more successful years serving this beautiful community!”

Parents shared their insight and experience at OYYL.

“Our son Yosef came to OYYL after an unpleasant 1st grade experience in another yeshiva.”, says Dafna Shaked, OYYL parent. – “From the first day we started to see a difference in Yosef. He woke up early and eager to go to school. After the first week he announced I love my Rebbi David!! His Kria started picking up immediately as he felt safe and motivated to work hard and learn. If we thought we couldn’t ask for more, we were wrong. The following year he had Rabbi Kaplan. Under the guidance and nurture of Rabbi Kaplan, Yosef underwent a transformation from a preschooler / pre 1 child to a mature, responsible and serious mini bachur! He takes pride in his learning & davening both in cheder and at home. He initiates fabraingens and syiumim, he had read the entire Sefer tehillim 2-3 times and overall presents himself as a chossid. My husband and I truly appreciate the partnership we have with OYYL in raising our Yosef Yitzchak. We thank the entire OYYL Team for all the dedication, sensitivity, flexibility and overall mesirus nefesh you have for our children!”

“My son has been going to OYYL for five years.” Says Chaya Helman, OYYL Parent. – “Since day one he felt like it was his home. Mila and her staff have created such a warm and loving environment, they instill true chassidic values, Ahavas Yisroel, everyone is accepted no matter their background. Everyone feels like family. The administration is very attentive to the children’s needs and if there are any problems there is always somebody, I can trust who will take care of it. I can’t express enough good things about this yeshiva, it truly is a blessing for the community.”

“As a parent it is an amazingly satisfying feeling to know of the unique individual sensitivity each of my daughters receive from their morahs toward their individual learning needs, as it is visible from the minute, I pick them up from school.” – Says Asher Berkovitch, OYYL Parent.

Our son progressed tremendously in his learning and was infused with an excitement for yiddishkeit and chassidishkeit thanks to his dedicated Rebbi- Rabbi Kaplan who made the learning come alive for his class.” Says Yakova Babinett, OYYL Parent.

“My son is in this school for the first time and I can honestly say that this school is by far the best one ever!  Everyone, especially Mila are amazing, helpful and caring teachers.  This school is not the typical one that is only concerned about their pockets but they genuinely care about each student”- Says Sara Matatova, OYYL Parent.

“I want to thank everyone at OYYL for all of your help to me and your teachers over this past year”- Says Mrs. Albukerk, OYYL Parent. I feel that my son, Shneur had an excellent year with his Rebbi. During the time that the classes were joined via hookup in our homes, I was able to better see why. The class started with a story that has Shneur up and attentive in the morning! The stories were inspiring and Interesting with attention to detail. Shneur didn’t want to miss a word! They would then daven together, often adding a bit more to what they were used to, one of the boys would lead. After that the actual learning began, and in my view, it was exceptional! The diagrams and pictures used and presented online were clear and beautiful, each letter and shoresh focused on that day was recited by the kids and clearly shown on the computer.

Key words and their meanings were practiced and memorized. The consistent review worked together with the diagrams to teach the heilige words in their young minds. My other kids often quietly crept in to listen, and I also learned a lot! The learning materials are all carefully arranged and given to us ahead of time. To top it all off, by the end on the online learning, my 7 year old knew so much dikduk and how to break down words of Chumash and loshon hakodesh so as to understand their structure and meaning, that when my older kids had classes online he was ahead of them, quickly giving his answer before they did! The boys learned Chumash inside and with an excellent system, highlighting and again breaking down the words. They also did parsha or yahadus subjects for the time of month or chassidishe holidays, all was organized and orderly as well as enjoyable. Thank you to Rabbi Schneiderman for those accurate and beautifully set out pesukim and illustrations. All of this was completed by noon! I think that I can honestly say that this learning uplifted our family during those hard ‘Covid’ weeks, and kept us on our ‘toes’ trying to keep up with the ‘little brother’! To conclude, together with OYYL’s clear chassidishe focus, we are privileged to be a part of your fast growing and consistently improving Chinuch system. Keep moving forward to continued success!”
