The large shul of 770 was packed last night from wall to wall as hundreds packed in to celebrate the chag hageulah, Rosh Hashana L’Chassidus, the auspicious day of 19 Kislev. The crowd heard from a variety of speakers, including both members of Crown Heights Beis Din, Rabbi Shloma Majeski, Rabbi Nissim Lagziel, Rabbi Mendel Blau, and more. The Gabboim of 770 invite the community to this year’s central farbrengen in honor of the auspicious day of 19 Kislev, the Chag Hegeulah of the Alter Rebbe, also widely dubbed ‘Rosh Hashana L’Chassidus’. An interesting variety of Rabbonim, Mashpi’im and Shluchim are slated to speak. Tens of members of the Chevra Kadisha of Aguch were seen in 770 on Friday 15 Kislev reading Krias Hatorah both in the morning and afternoon. The group was following an age old tradition to fast on the day, reading kriah and saying selichos, as is customary on a fast day • Full Story, Photos
Hundreds of anash and temimim gathered in 770’s large shul last night to mark the auspicious day of 14 Kislev, the 93rd wedding anniversary of the Rebbe MH”M and the Rebbetzin. Those gathered heard from a variety of guest speakers, among them two Shluchim from Australia, Rabbis Yitzchok Barber and Yosef Yitzchok Engel. Another chapter in the ongoing saga in the trial of the management of Beis Haknesses Beis Hamedrash Lubavitch Sheb’Lubavitch. After almost 20 years of hearings in various courts, the New York State Court of Appeals announced today that there is no need to hear the appeal filed by the gabbaim regarding a demand to vacate the premises, because in the court’s opinion, the previous ruling does not include such an order • Full Story
