In a generation living 20+ years after Gimmel Tammuz, the value of hearing the Rebbe’s voice on a daily basis, speaking on carefully selected topics and ideas, cannot be overstated. It infuses one’s day with chayus and meaning.
For over 15 years, “The Daily Sicha” – a project headed by Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Gurary of Montreal, QC – has prepared a set of selected portions of the Rebbe’s Sichos ahead of each year.
These 10-12 minute Sichos, carefully selected so as to cover topics relevant to the day they are assigned to, are played daily (except Friday and Shabbos) in Chabad Shuls and Yeshivos across the globe (usually in the 10 minutes before maariv).
As part of the project, they also provide transcripts of the Sichos (or translations in Hebrew) for participants to follow along and keep focused with the varied topics the Rebbe covers.
And now, thanks to the generously sponsored time of some very tech-savvy individuals, Sicha Yomis is finally meeting the 21st century with a mobile app for the Android and iOS platforms.
Titled “The Daily Sicha – 5775”, it is already available in the Android Play store and is awaiting approval for the iOS appstore. The application allows the user to stream that day’s Sicha live while following along in the preffered language.
Some of the features of the app include ability to scroll to past/future dates, font size flexibility, American and Israeli calendar choices and more.
The app, which was developed by Levi Sudak of CursorBlue.com, was produced Liiluy Nishmas his grandfather – the renowned Shliach to the UK: Rabbi Nachman Ben Reb Pinchas Sudak A”H, who passed away last year.
Positive reviews of the new-born app can already be seen pouring in at the play store, commenting on the smooth, intuitive interface and the sleek design. Try it for yourself, and infuse your day with meaning by including a Vort from Nessi Doireinu.
The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cursorblue.dailysicha
