Question: When is the best time to make the Seudas Purim when Purim falls out on Friday?

Answer: The Purim se’udah is eaten in the morning, so that we do not disrespect Shabbos by entering the holy day too full to enjoy the Shabbos meal. It is best to begin the meal before chatzos (halachic midday) which is at 12:08 pm (in NYC), or at least before the tenth halachic hour of the day which is at approximately 2:56 pm (in NYC).

It is permissible to extend the meal so that it continues into the afternoon, even passing the tenth halachic hour of the day. At the same time, care must be taken to avoid eating until completely satiated—room must be left for the Shabbos meal that must be eaten with appetite.
