Rabbi Moshe Kravitzki, a Lubavitcher chossid, was murdered in today’s tragic terror attack in Be’er Sheva.
He was in his forties.
Moshe was brought close to Yiddishkeit as a young man by Rabbi Zalman Abelsky, subsequently entering the Israeli Chabad yeshiva system in Eretz Yisroel. He also maintained an exceptionally close relationship wit Reb Zalman Leib Estulin, assisting and learning with him for many years.
Rabbi Kravitzki founded the Chabad House in Nachal Beka, a neighborhood in Be’er Sheva. Even after abdicating his position for personal reasons, he made sure to bring a new shliach to the area, subsequently helping him as much as possible.
He also ran the city’s Colel Chabad soup kitchen, where elderly and needy come to eat warm meals.
Today (Tuesday, 19 Adar II), R’ Moshe was riding his bicycle on the streets of Be’er Sheva when an Arab terrorist ym”s struck him with a vehicle, killing him.
As ChabadInfo.com reported earlier, according to Israeli police, the attacker stabbed a woman at a gas station, murdering her. He then returned to his car and rammed into R’ Moshe hy”d, before exiting the vehicle and again going on a stabbing rampage, injuring several people at the BIG shopping center. Two more victims were declared dead on their arrival to the hospital, making the total number of people killed four.
He is survived by his wife and four children.
