With great sadness, we regret to inform you of the passing of Rabbi Avrohom Lider, a well known activist in the Crown Heights community and the director of the Ahavas Chesed organization. He passed away Friday night from a sudden heart attack. He was 61-years-old.
Following his marriage, Rabbi Lider founded Ahavas Chesed, an organization dedicated to helping hospital patients in need of outside intervention.
Rabbi Lider helped many get the best medical treatment available, and if they cannot afford to pay for it, Rabbi Lider would arrange that they would not have to pay for it.
In recent months, Rabbi Lieder was known for coordinating the plasma and blood drives in Crown Heights.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Tema and his children: Dovid Lider, Crown Heights; Naftoli Lider, Crown Heights; Shmuly Lider, Crown Heights; Malky Janowsky, Toronto, Canada; and Bassie Lider, Crown Heights.
