    With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Avraham Tzvi Landa, OB”M, who was the oldest living Chossid. He passed away on Friday, 10 Adar 1. He was 100-years-old.

    Rabbi Landa was born in Tzanz, and learnt in Tomchei T’mimim, after learning in Pinsk. He managed to narrowly escape the second World War, through Shanghai.

    Rabbi Landa received a special Bracha for Arichas Yomim, from the Frierdiker Rebbe, as can be seen in the letter (attached).

    In the year 5706, Avraham Zvi arrived in the United States, and married his wife Chaya, who also survived the war.

    For many years, Rabbi Landa was living in Boro Park, spreading Chassidus to many Yidden. In the year 5770, he moved to Crown Heights.

    He is survived by his children: Yehuda Landa – New Jersey; Yisrael Dovid Landa – Crown Heights; Yosef Landa – S. Louis, MO; and Rivky Kirsh – Crown heights; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    The Levaya will take place today, Friday – Erev Shabbos, leaving Shomrei Hadas in Boro Park at around 12:00, and passing by 770 around 12:45.

    The Landa family will be sitting Shiva for their father Rabbi Avraham Tzvi Landa, OB”M, at 640 Montgomery St. Two Minyanim will be held for Shachris at 8:30am and 9:00am respectively. Mincha at 5:00pm. Maairiv will be B’Zmana.
