On Friday afternoon, the Levaya of the Mara D’asra of Crown Heights, Harav Aharon Yaacov Schwei, OB”M, took place.
Despite the health instructions and despite a message issued by the Badatz calling for people not to attend the Levaya, many people could not stop themselves and came to pay tribute to the Rov when the Levaya began outside 770.
The procession passed through the streets of the neighborhood, and thousands of mourning members of the community stood in the doorways, accompanying Rabbi Schwei on his final journey.
