With great sadness we regret to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Guta Shapiro, OB”M, of Crown Heights, and matriarch of large Lubavitch family. She passed away this morning, Beis Nissan. She was 99-years-old.
She was the daughter of famous Mashpia and Chossid, Reb Peretz Mochkin, OB”M.
She was predeceased by her husband Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Shapiro, OB”M.
She is survived by her children Rabbi Nachman Shapiro – Crown Heights; Rabbi Nachum Shapiro – Sydney, Australia; Mrs. Raizel Schreiber – Bal Harbor, FL; Mrs. Chiena Lazaroff – Houston, TX; Mrs. Fradel Mishulovin – Crown Heights; Mrs. Sterke Krinsky – Crown Heights; and Mrs. Hindy Gurwitz – Crown Heights. She is also survived by hundreds of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many of whom are Shluchim of the Rebbe around the world.
