With great sadness we regret to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Chaya Motchkin, OB”M, a member of the Crown Heights community. She passed away Motzei Shabbos, Yud Aleph Nissan. She was 75-years-old.
She was born in Tashkent, to her parents Rabbi Zalmen Leib and Reizel Estulin. Under Communist Russia she had to risk her life to keep Shabbos.
She is survived by her children, Mrs. Sara Motchkin-Kanevsky – Crown Heights; Mrs. Chanie Garelik – Crown Heights, and Mrs. Dinie Cohen – Sacramento, CA; as well as her grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings Mrs. Gisa Freedland of Kiryat Malachi, ER”Y; Rabbi Naftoli Estulin of Los Angeles, CA; and R’ Dovid Estulin of Crown Heights.
