With great sadness we regret to inform you of the sudden and untimely passing of Menachem Mendel Goldbloom, OB”M, of Chicago, Illinois. He passed away following a car accident while serving in the US Marines on Sunday night, Shmini Atzeres. He was 24 years old.

Broadly talented and driven by passion, Mendel loved to joke, unicycle, and connect with strangers.

He went to EMT school, became a Marine, and everywhere he went people fell in love with his open kindness.

Mendel had that independent kind of spirit, and always calmly did what he wanted, and what he thought was right.

This week, a vehicle swerved across traffic near 29 Palms, his station in California, fatally impacting the vehicle he was in. He passed away on Shmeini Atzeres.

He is survived by his parents and siblings.
