With great sadness we regret to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Channa Miriam Tarshish, OB”M, a longtime member of the Lubavitch community of Chicago. She passed away on Monday, the 26th of Nissan. She was 71-years-old.
She has reportedly passed away after contracting the Coronavirus.
Mrs. Tarshish was born in Chicago to Mr. and Mrs Goselit. She got married to Rabbi Avrohom Zelig Tarshish in the 5720’s in Chicago.
They lived in Denver, Colorado, for some time, followed by St. Paul, Minnesota and then settling in Chicago for many years.
Mrs. Tarshish was a very kind women, who was part of the Lubavitch community in the West Rogers Park area of Chicago, for many years. In Chicago, she served as a Mikvah attendant and was heavily involved with the Chevrah Kadisha.
Just a few months ago, she and her husband moved to North Miami Beach, Florida. There they joined the Lubavitch community and became regular Mispalalim at Bais Menachem of N. Miami Beach.
She is survived by her husband, Rabbi Avrohom Zelig Tarshish, and her children, Frummy Shubov – Toronto, Canada; Liba Silberstein – Chicago, IL; Chaya Sara Shaul – Eli, ER”Y; Simmy Nodel – N. Miami Beach, FL; Elke Nodel – N. Miami Beach, FL; Yecheal Tarshish – Chicago, IL; Yeshaia (Berky) Tarshish – Crown Heights; and Shoshana Brown – Cleveland, OH; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren ka”h.
