A gift from Moreshet Auctions in honor of the Rebbe’s 70th year as Admor of Chabad. For the first time, the auction house will be hosting an online sale of close to 200 items of Chabad Judaica, including extremely rare collections, with the goal of selling everything at fair prices to anyone interested, including valuable items displayed and sold to the broader public for the first time.
The enormous sale will take place next Wednesday, 29th of Tevet (13 January) from 7pm on the Moreshet Auction House website.
Items will be presented and sold to the public for the first time, including a copy of the third edition of the Tanya, printed during the lifetime of its author, the Admor HaZaken! There will also be rare editions of the Tanya and larger collections of Tanya editions, as well as antique and rare Chabad sefarim, handwritten bichelach by the Tzemach Tzedek, and documents from the Chabad Kollel in Hevron 170 years ago! Also being sold are documents with the handwriting of Rabbi Haim Palagi, original HaTamim booklets, a notebook with handwritten copies of never-published Kherson Geniza documents, and rare collections of hundreds of newspaper clippings on Chabad and the Rebbe.
There will also be oil paintings featuring the Rebbe’s portrait, rare collections of Chanukah gelt including money given to IDF soldiers by young Chabadnikim at the Rebbe’s instruction and coins blessed by the Rebbe himself.
Judaica objects received directly from the Rebbe will also be available for purchase by the public: Chanukah gelt (coins, medallions, and dollars from the Rebbe), extremely rare pamphlets and letters from the Rebbe, wine from the Rebbe’s ‘kos shel bracha’, a $100 bill from the Rebbe for the construction of a mikveh, and more.
The sale’s organizers note that there will also be an extremely rare, original letter with blessings for a happy new year (shana tova) signed by the Rebbe together with his brother-in-law Rabbi Shemaryahu Gurary and the Rabbanit Nechama Dina, from Elul 1950. There is also a recently discovered rare letter from the Rebbe with new year greetings for the kabbalist Rabbi Yosef Woltuch, considered one of the 36 hidden tzaddikim of the generation. There is also a letter from the Rebbe (with 53 handwritten words!) which does not appear in Igrot Kodesh.
This is the first time in history that an online sale composed entirely of Chabad items is taking place, with a wide range of rare and worthwhile items for everyone.
