In a heartfelt “Call To Action” from veteran Shliach Rabbi Chaim Jacobs from Scotland, discusses the recent “Shabbos Project” and why Shluchim should refocus their energies ● Opinion
Yesterday, tens of thousands of Jews around the world celebrated Shabbos, as part of “The Shabbos Project” ● In preparation for this Shabbos, a musical video featuring MBD’s Just One Shabbos was released, featuring vocals from 8th Day, Benny Friedman and a Boys Choir, with star performance by Meir Kalmanson ● Video
Question: I am still not sure that I will join in and pledge to keep that one Shabbat. My problem is that it almost seems hypocritical just to do it one time. I don’t think at this stage I am ready to commit to the ongoing observance of Shabbat and I can’t see great value in a once off experience. What are your thoughts? ● Rabbi Michoel Gourarie, Chabad Shliach in Sydney, Australia responds ● Answer
