Over 1,000 guests packed into 770 last week for a show of respect to the Crown Heights G’vir R’ Sholom Ber Drizin, who donated One Million Dollars to cover the tickets of guests coming to the Rebbe, keeping the tradition started by the Rebbe, who would personally pay part of the tickets of guests coming for Tishrei ● Full Story, Pictures
On Tuesday Night, Erev Rosh Hashana, over 1,000 guests packed the 770 Shul for a Farbrengen honoring the Crown Heights G’vir R’ Sholom Ber Drizin, who donated One Million Dollars to cover the tickets of guests coming to the Rebbe, keeping the tradition started by the Rebbe, who would personally pay part of the tickets of guests coming for Tishrei.
Drizin has also continued his tradition of sponsoring Eshel – Hachnosas Orchim, the organization founded by Rabbi Moshe Yeruslavsky over 40 years ago to provide the needs of guests visiting the Rebbe for Tishrei. The organization is currently directed by Rabbi Mendel Hendel, who provides meals and lodging for close to 5,000 guests every Tishrei.
Gracing the podium alongside R’ Sholom Ber Drizin and Rabbi Mendel Hendel, were the Mara De’asra and members of the Crown Heights Beis Din Rabbi Aharon Yaakov Schwei and Rabbi Yosef Yeshaya Braun.
