The Man Who Walked Nine-And-A-Half Days To Meet The Shliach

Meet Dr. Daniel Moskovich, the man who walked from Osaka, Japan to Tokyo, Japan, a distance of 550 kilometres, spending nine-and-a-half days in this trek ● The purpose: Aliya LaRegel to meet Rabbi Binyamin Edery, Chabad Shliach to Japan ● Full Story

    By Dr. Daniel Moskovich

The Nakasendo is the old inland road from Kyoto to Tokyo. The route, which connected Japan’s two major political and economic centers, had been used since antiquity. During the Edo period it was one of five major routes through Japan. It had been disused since the end of the Edo period, and today it consists of stretches of highway and urban road, together with some stretches of mountain trail. Its length is approximately 550 km. I have walked the Nakasendo 3 times.

On this occasion, I walked from Osaka to Chabad House of Tokyo, which is a total of approximately 600km. The walk took me nine and a half days, plus one Shabbat. It was Aliyah LaRegel (pilgrimage) to meet Rabbi Binyomin. Soon G-d willing we will be able to do aliya laregel to the Temple in Jerusalem.
