For more than four decades, Chabad of the Airport, founded by Rabbi Kuti Rapp, A”H, has been a beacon to Jewish travelers in New York from all walks of life. Today, the organization continues to grow under the leadership of his son, Rabbi Yossi Rapp. Each day, volunteers meet Jewish passengers with Tefillin, kosher goodies, a Torah thought, and a smile.
A new, state-of-the-art booth at JFK’s Terminal 4, the first ever Sukkah erected at JFK, and literature for children and adults in three languages are just a few of the recent developments at Chabad of the Airport, and R’ Yossi says there’s no slowing down in sight.
For 48 hours starting Wednesday, Chabad of the Airport will be raising $56,000, which will enable it to continue to go from strength to strength in doing the Rebbe’s Mivtzoim with thousands of Jewish travelers from far and wide, including more terminals and airports than ever before.
