San Andrés Welcomes New Chabad House for Jewish Community and Tourists

A new Chabad house in San Andrés, Colombia, founded by Rabbi Mordechai and Dassi Bigio, aims to serve the local Jewish community and the influx of Jewish tourists in the tourist destination • Full Story

The tourist destination of San Andrés, Colombia, has recently welcomed a new Chabad house, established by the family of Rabbi Mordechai and Dassi Bigio.

The couple aims to promote the spread of Judaism and prepare the town for the coming of Moshiach.

The shluchim will serve both the local Jewish community and the numerous tourists visiting the area.

The Bigio family has already been actively involved in Minyanim and community events during Sukkos, in addition to offering kosher food, tefillin, and other services for tourists.

San Andrés is known as a stopover for many Jewish tourists from Florida, Panama, and other regions with larger Jewish populations, and the Chabad house aims to provide these visitors with the necessities of Judaism. As Rabbi Mordechai explains, “We have come here to provide them with the basic needs of Judaism.”
