Shas party chairman, Minister Aryeh Deri on Thursday, March 7, 2019, met with the chairman of the Agudas Yisrael faction of Yahadut Hatorah, Deputy Minister Yaakov Litzman, to discuss election strategy.
The two met for a long period of time in Deri’s office, and it was reported that they will continue the unequivocal support for the Netanyahu election race, and they will not back Benny Gantz.
In their statement to the press, they also reportedly decided that they will only enter into a coalition together, and that would be a coalition headed by PM Netanyahu, and that they would stand strongly at his side.
They added that they will not conduct any negotiations regarding a coalition that includes Yair Lapid, regardless of what situation will exist.
The party leaders agreed on cooperation in the current election campaign, in which they would work as decently as possible and assist one another to succeed in the campaign and to increase chareidi representation in the next Knesset.
