Mussy W., a Lubavitch girl of Crown Heights saved an entire flight from a terrible fate, chas v’sholom. Read on:
Mussy insisted to deplane a flight about to take off from the Ben Gurion Airport due to an apparent malfunction in the wing. It seems that her decision saved the lives of dozens of passengers.
In a conversation with her father, he said: On Motzoei Shabbos, Mussy was supposed to return home on a Russian airline flight with a stopover in Moscow. She got on the flight at the Ben Gurion airport, 2 engines were activated and the plane was minutes before takeoff, with all passengers, including flight attendants, securely strapped in their seats.
Mussy, sitting in a window seat, noticed something strange about the wing, especially the noise emanating from it. It was evident that something was loose there. She told her seat-mates that something was wrong but they just laughed at her.
She unbuckled her seat belt and went to the stewardesses, who yelled at her. She said that she hears noise, and the flight staff told her that it’s from the engine. Mussy announced that she refuses to fly on this plane.
Mussy’s announcement created an uproar, which caused the staff to check what was going on. They removed all the passengers from the flight and said that within two hours the plane will be fit to travel.
After the two hours passed, passengers were left in the terminal, because there really was a very serious failure, which could endanger the lives of the passengers and perhaps even cause an accident at takeoff.
Twenty four hours later, the passengers were transferred to another plane and it turns out that, Boruch Hashem, my daughter saved the lives of the passengers by her act.
