A special project was initiated by Rabbi Berel Lazar, Russia’s head Rabbi, wherein tens of thousands of kits are distributed to Russian Jewry for the night of Pesach. Each set includes everything needed for the Seder, including a Kosher L’Pesach dishes, Shmura Matzah, the Simanim, food products, and a Haggadah with a detailed instruction booklet for the whole family.

The kits are distributed throughout Russia with the help of hundreds of Shluchim, who are in constant contact with the Jewish families in their city. In fact, over the past year, personal connections grew stronger through the regular distribution of Shabbos kits.

Rabbi Lazar arrived at the main distribution center that is currently taking place at the Sha’are Tzedek center, and closely watched the amazing work that went into the distribution.

Simultaneously with this project, the Chief Rabbi was also very impressed with the distribution of “Maos Chitim – Kimcha Depischa” to needy families, as well as the elderly and lonely in Moscow. This is a traditional distribution that has been going on for about two decades through the “Matan B’Sayser” fund under the central “Keren Chaya Mushkah” organization. This year, the project has gotten even bigger, with products being sent directly to the homes of beneficiaries in a very dignified manner.
