Hundreds braved the 30-degree weather on the Pearl St. Mall to watch Governor-elect Jared Polis and 2018 Lamplighter Josh Raderman light the giant Chanukah Menorah in front of the Courthouse Monday night.
Jared was joined by his husband and kids and Josh was joined by wife Bonnie and kids while volunteers from the Boulder County Center for Judaism distributed sufganyot, light-up dreidal necklases and Chanukah candle-lighting kits to the throng.
Boulder JCC Executive Director Jonathan Lev got the festivities under way, Rabbi Pesach Scheiner introduced the Governor-elect and Rebbitzen Chany Scheiner introduced the Radermans. Eliyahu, an upbeat Israeli musician, provided a lively soundtrack.
Chanukah on Pearl was sponsored by Boulder County Center for Judaism and Boulder JCC as well as JEWISHcolorado, Boulder Jewish News, Oreg Foundation, Hazel Wines, Carolyn Bleicher of Remax, Bruce and Rhonda Wildman and Andy and Audrey Franklin.
