A dinner was held for the benefit of the Lubavitch Yeshivah of Cergy, France – a new yeshiva that opened two years ago in the Paris suburb, where 28 students’ study with a staff who work their days off for the benefit of the young bochurim to help them in their learn and encourage them in a Chassidishe environment.
The dinner which was supposed to draw over 50 supporters at a Paris-area hotel, amazed the organizers when many more signed up – there was no need to do any advertising – the good name of the yeshiva spread far and wide to such an extent that everyone wanted to be a part. From the success, about one hundred and twenty people participated in the dinner.
The moderator, Rabbi Chaim Hillel Sudry, presented to the audience the values of the yeshiva, the level of learning and the desire of the students, and asked everyone to open their hearts and pockets to purchase a new building for the yeshiva’s dorm, the new dorm building that will join the existing house and cost 340,000 euros , for this purpose, everyone was asked to purchase a square meter that costs 3400 euros.
Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Pevzner of the Sinai institutions and Rabbi Binyamin Margi of Beis Chana spoke of the importance of the new building.
The caterer Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Ben Shushan not only donated the entire evening which cost thousands of euros but he himself also donated a meter to the new yeshiva building, with a sparkle in his eyes he could not contain his excitement to take part in the development of the yeshiva.
During the dinner, almost the entire building of the yeshiva’s dorm was donated. Far from the amount the organizers expected.
