Peru: Massive Lubavitch Schita Operation For The Local Jews
During the last week of the Jewish year 5782, in the country of Peru, a massive Lubavitch Shchita operation took place together with the chief rabbi of the country to benefit all the local Jews living in Peru. In the month of Elul, towards the upcoming year of Hakhel all the Jewish communities of Lima Peru united together for a strictly kosher cattle shchita which was held together with all the heads of the Jewish community of Peru, an operation that Beis Chabad of Peru founded more than thirty years ago under the directon of Chief Rabbi, Shneor Zalman Blumenfeld A”H.
The rabbis came to the plant to see the slaughtering, conducted an eye test and checked the knives of the Shochtim.”
After the slaughtering, and did a large amount of kosher meat, was left for the Jewish people in Perú enjoy for the holidays and the rest of the year.
The entire slaughtering operation was conducted by the central Chabad house in Lima by the Blumenfeld family and their sons-in-law Shayao.
Choosing which animals to slaughter, which is not an easy process, and of course slaughtering and kashering was done by Rabbi Eliyahu Ezagui from crown heights, who flew down for a couple days to Peru from Chile as he spent the month of Elul, doing Shchar’s there as well.
