Between the busy seasons of the month of Tishrei and the Kinus Hashluchim that will be taking place in just a few weeks, ChabadInfo.com photographer Shmuel Amit, used the opportunity to do some ‘Bikur Hamosdos’ and visit some of the Chabad Houses in Mexico.

His first stop was to the Chabad House of Playa del Carmen, directed and ran by Rabbi and Mrs. Chaim Brod. Playa del Carmen is a coastal resort town in Mexico, along the Yucatán Peninsula’s Riviera Maya strip of Caribbean shoreline. In the state of Quintana Roo, it’s known for its palm-lined beaches and coral reefs.

The Shluchim of Playa del Carmen, together with the help of a few Bochurim work around the clock to help all of the Yidden in Playa, including the locals, tourists and the thousands of Israeli backpackers that come through the doors annually.

Rabbi and Mrs. Brod moved on Shlichus to Playa del Carmen, Mexico eight years ago, and are consistently growing in their activities. During some parts of the year they serve such large quantities that they need two shifts for Shabbos or Yom Tov meals.
