The following is a letter sent to his fellow Shluchim and Anash from Rabbi MM Gluckowsky.
Dear fellow member of Anash,
I turn to you at a time of desperate need for a fellow Shliach in Israel. Reb Aaron Lazer has been diagnosed with a very rare type of malignant growth which the doctors in Israel do not have enough expertise in treating. The only hope for him is to immediately travel to a specific clinic in the US where treatment is available for this type of growth.
The cost of the treatment is expected to exceed $180,000 (none of which is covered by his health insurance).
This astronomic sum is one that his family can’t even dream of putting together, which has caused them to go ahead with the treatment in Israel. Unfortunately this has only complicated the situation and raised the immediate danger of this disease.
For forty years, with true Mesirus Nefesh, Aaron Lazer gave his life to his Shlichus, affecting thousands upon thousands in Israel and around the world. Now, it is our responsibility to join together and give him all we can to ensure that every possible effort is made to save his life.
We cannot sit back and wait for a miracle!
