Tomorrow: Your Chance to Partner for The Rebbe’s Guests

As we’ve earlier reported, tomorrow, the 11th of Tishrei, will commence the much anticipated “Hachnosas Orchim Day”, a 24 hour Charidy fundraising drive during which all men and women can partner with Eshel – Hachnosas Orchim in hosting the Rebbe’s guests. Contributions will be matched by three donors, effectively quadrupling every dollar you donate. That’s right, every dollar donated is immediately worth four dollars!
Because the goal is $770,000, only a quarter of that sum, $192,500, must be raised in order for the campaign to be a success.
However, here is the catch, it’s an “all-or-nothing” proposition: If the campaign doesn’t reach its goal, then Eshel will have received nothing, and be crippled in its ability to provide for the thousands of guests – guests who’ve come to depend on it for everything from blankets and pillows to daily meals and medical care.
The Rebbe’s appreciation and personal concern for whom he referred to as “my guests” is widely known. The Rebbe, also, often laid the responsibility of hosting the guests on the local community.
Partnering with Eshel in their mission essentially makes you a “host” of the Rebbe’s guests as well.
This year – partly because it’s a Shnas Hakhel – the number of guests has increased beyond expectations and the cost of housing and providing for the many guests has created a financial burden, and has Eshel struggling to meet the demand. Eshel is therefore taking the step of turning to the community, and Anash worldwide, for assistance.
The campaign affords a rare opportunity by allowing participation in Chabad’s largest Chesed institution, while having your donation magnified fourfold by generous matchers.
The fundraiser will open at 11:00 AM of Thursday and continue for only 24 hours by which time the goal must have been reached.
It’s now our turn to step up unite – and share with family and friends – in support and care for the Rebbe’s guests, which will surely give much Nachas to the Rebbe!
