It’s known what Chazal tell us: “Greater is Hachnosas Orchim then greeting the Shchina”. From this is understood how great is the Mitzva of Hachnosas Orchim when it’s also greeting the Shchina.
Such a form of Hachnosas Orchim exist already for many years, here, in Crown Heights:
Chazal state: “one is obligated to greet [visit] his teacher on Yom Tov”, and this is considered like greeting the Shchina – being Ole Regel, which is what the guests are doing when they come to the Rebbe for Tishrei.
Our community is greatly privileged that, lately, a beautiful building was erected with the name ‘Eshe”l’, the acronym of ‘food’, drink, and ‘lodging’ – the initiative and Mesiras Nefesh of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hakohen Hendel Sheyichye, the director of this great institution.
Eshel stand out in that it hosts all guests, without discrimination, and strives for every guest to feel at home. Eshel provides for all the guests needs so they can spend their time strengthening their Hiskashrus to the Rebbe, and derive much inspiration from this holy place.
It’s widely known the special encouragement and appreciation the Rebbe had for the directorship of Hachnosas Orchim, and the financial aid he extended to them, etc. etc.
It’s understood the great Zchus of extending a helping hand to Eshel, so they can not merely continue with their important work, but also expand more and more.
Certainly, all those who help Eshel-Hachnosas Orchim – the Rebbe Benches them with special Brachos that they succeed in all their endeavors physically and spiritually. In the holy words of the Rebbe: the larger the assistance is – it creates a larger ‘vessel’ to receive larger Brachos.
May it be the will of the almighty, that in the merit of Tzedaka to Eshel-Hachnosas Orchim – this will hasten the revelation of our righteous Moshiach, who will lead us to the final and complete redemption.
