Even in its inaugural year, Eshel’s English division is off to a successful launch with many dozens of Bochurim having signed up to the program.

If you thought the English Division would be a second-tier trial stage endeavor, you couldn’t be more wrong. As can readily be seen, Eshel didn’t hold back. The comfortable sleeping quarters, spacious learning spaces, fully developed and relevant curricula, nutritious daily meals, as well as Shiurim, Kinnusim, and Farbrengens with renowned and engaging Mashpi’im, the programming and organization take nothing for granted and aim at providing the conditions and opportunities necessary for the Bochurim to thrive, and to really “arrive” by the Rebbe.

Eshel is widely acclaimed for its professionalism and dedication in catering to the many thousands of guests that flock to the Rebbe for the month of Tishrei, and providing for all their material and spiritual needs. However, being that the vast majority of Bochurim in need of assistance were Hebrew speakers primarily from Israel, the culture and language of Eshel’s programming was in Hebrew, leaving many English speaking Buchurim feeling alienated and marginalized.

Realizing the great necessity, Eshel director Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hendel responded by opening an English speaking division solely catering to the distinct needs and dispositions of those speakers. Already, the response from Bochurim has been overwhelmingly positive and thankful.

The English Division is dedicated L’Ilui Nishmas R’ Yekusiel Menachem a”h Ben ylt”a Shraga Rapp.

Eshel’s expansion is in keeping with its long tradition of caring for the Rebbe’s guests even when others turned the other way. Eshel was founded in 5732 when Rabbi Moshe Yeruslavsky a”h, having realized that, despite the Rebbe’s consistently encouraging Chassidim to come spend Tishrei in 770, and the guests arriving without accommodations, the locals’ remained apathetically inept to provide for them, would come to the Rebbe for Tishrei especially early to make arrangements for the many guests who would soon arrive.

Eshel is currently the longest serving and premier organization that caters to the many thousands of guests that flock to the Rebbe for the month of Tishrei, and is the only Hachnosas Orchim organization sanctioned by the Rebbe for this purpose.
