Lubavitch Rabbonim from all over the world came to the Rebbe for the Yom Tov of Shavuos, as the minhag is for many years.
This year too – as per the annual tradition in accordance with an explicit instruction from the Rebbe – the local hosting Rabbonim, invited the guest Rabbonim to a special “Kabolas Ponim” Farbrengen.
Like in the past, the special meeting took place in the office of the Badatz of Crown Heights, located on Kingston Avenue. At the meeting they discussed many important timely and relevant topics together with the hosting Rabbonim – the Morei D’asra and members of the Badatz of Crown Heights – Horav Aharon Yaakov Schwei and Horav Yosef Yeshaya Braun.
The meeting was closed to the public, leaving the details of what was discussed, for the time being, just between the Rabbonim that participated. However, what was told over is that amongst the various topics, some of the past years ‘hot topics’ were discussed, like the serious problems that can arise from such innovations as the “Kosher” prenuptial agreement, and the importance that any dealing in such marital matters should be dealt with in a responsible manner – only through expert Rabbonim who are proficient in the field and are accepted as Morei Hora’ah (pasken shaalos for the public).
The importance of every Rov, without exception, acting as a true ‘Dugma Chaya’ (living example) was also spoken about, including the Rabbonim demonstrating to the wider community the strength of Torah law as transmitted via Beis Din, and accepting with absolute obedience any decision made by a Beis Din, and heaven forbid not substitute our true Torah with secular goyishe laws via claims in secular courts.
This year a special part of the meeting was dedicated to discuss the significant topic of halachic shaalos that arise when dealing with pikuach nefesh (saving a life), particularly relevant when treating critically ill patients ch”v. A special guest lecturer, Horav Haga’on Rabbi Ausch shlita, was invited to the meeting, who serves as a posek in such delicate issues and is famous worldwide as an expert in these matters. After he spoke, the Rabbonim had a heated discussion analyzing in great depth all the sources on the topics spoken about.
Following this meeting, by the Rebbe’s Motzei Yom Tov Farbrengen, a Psak Din demanding that Moshiach must come immediately, together with the revelation of the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach was announced.
