The Annual Grand Mishnayos B’al Peh Ceremony of United Lubavitcher Yeshiva took place last Sunday. 110 Talmidim sat proudly on the bleachers at the event honoring their accomplishments in learning lines, Prokim and Mesechtos of Mishnayos and Tanya B’al Peh.

Chassan Hacheder, MM Rendler, and S’gan Hacheder, Yaakov Gurkow, were honored as the highest and second-to-highest achievers of the entire Yeshiva.

A total of 383 boys were awarded with Seforim and other Judaic prizes, accumulating a grand total of 88,067 lines of Mishnayos and Tanya B’al Peh this year.

Rabbi Y. Simpson related a beautiful story which the Rebbe Maharash related in the presence of his son the Rebbe Rashab when he turned 12 years old. The story illustrated the beauty and power of Mishnayos B’al Peh.

The highlight of the event was an inspiring address by Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky, who shared his experience as a child, growing up with Mesiras Nefesh in Russia, and his first private Yechidus with the Rebbe, during which the Rebbe tested him on Perek Daled Tanya B’al Peh. Rabbi Kanelsky was given the honor of announcing the Chassan and S’gan Hacheder.

Rabbi Mordechai and Mrs. Shterny Kanelsky of Bris Avrohom have been long time supporters of the Tanya B’al Peh program in United Lubavitcher Yeshiva, which they dedicate in loving memory of their daughter Bas Sheva, as part of the ‘Bas Sheva Mitzvos Campaign to Bring Moshiach’.

The Mishnayos B’al Peh program is greatly indebted to the dedicated 8th graders who spent countless hours throughout the year testing and encouraging the Talmidim of all the grades: Moishy Nelken, Meir Rabkin, Chezky Sudak and Yehuda Gur. As well as to the 6th and 7th graders who directed the Early Morning Coco-Club: Mendel Adelist, Menachem Levy, Meir Kraus, Shmaya Prus, Osher Kozlovsky and Yisroel Tenenbaum.

Special thanks to Rabbi Yossi Teleshevsky, the Tzivos Hashem Base Commander for his tireless efforts in promoting and organizing the Mishnayos B’al Peh program in Yeshiva.
