New ‘Tanya Life’ Podcast Launches for 19 Kislev

Innovative curriculum on Tanya focusing on big-picture learning and life application, is now available on a podcast.

Tanya Life is an innovative learning series delivered weekly at Chabad of the Beaches in Long Beach, NY, headed by Rabbi Eli and Baila Goodman and servicing the cities of Long, Lido and Atlantic Beaches. The organization has recently garnered media attention due to a legal battle initiated by the city of Atlantic Beach regarding the newly acquired property set to host a new Chabad center. Chabad has seen miraculous success in opposing an imminent domain claim by the city on their new property.

What garners less media attention, but is equally important, is Chabad of the Beaches’ constant quest to expand its educational activities and programs. Tanya Life is just one of them.

The instructor, Rabbi Shlomie Naprastek, assistant rabbi at Chabad of the Beaches and director of the International Moshiach Office at Merkos 302, says that this class is unique.

“There are many great resources, classes and books that give incredible aid to learning Tanya” he points out, “But Tanya Life has a very particular focus.

“Firstly, as evidenced in the introductory class, Tanya In One Hour, we focus on delivering the entire “storyline” of Tanya so that listeners have a grasp of the underlying structure the entire way through.

“Secondly,” he adds, “We focus on the application of the wisdom learned in the Tanya to contemporary life.”

In honor of the 19th of Kislev, when the Alter Rebbe, author of the Tanya, was released from prison, Tanya Life is extending its welcome to the online community. These popular classes are now available on all podcast platforms, along with the source sheets in the descriptions.

The podcast is being cheered by class participants themselves. While they obtain their greatest insights from in-person learning and interaction, the podcast assists in reviewing the material post-lesson. Also, if participants ever miss a class in person, they can easily make it up.

Of course, the biggest beneficiary, though, is the online community who now have access to the series from anywhere, at any time.
