With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Sholom Ber Garelik, OB”M, veteran Chosid and prominent member of the community of Nachlas Har Chabad. He was 75 years old.
Rabbi Garelik was born in Russia where mesirus nefesh was a way of life. Upon arriving in Eretz Yisroel he was a founding member of ChaMaH and raised a Chassidishe family that was a source of nachas to The Rebbe.
Rabbi Garelik passed away a few hours ago, after battling with yena machla for about six months.
He is survived by – ybl”c – his wife, Rivkah, and children: R’ Zalman Garelik – Be’er Sheva, Israel; R’ Yerachmiel Garelik – Chulon, Israel; R’ Moti Garelik – Petach Tikvah, Israel; Mrs. Chana Feldman – Nachlas Har Chabad, Israel; Mrs. Chaya Sharon – Nachlas Har Chabad, Israel; Mrs. Nechama Vigler – Nachlas Har Chabad, Israel.
He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived as well by his siblings: Reb Mordechai Garelik – Nachlas Har Chabad, Israel and Reb Chaim Elazar Garelik – Melbourne, Australia.
He is predeceased by his son, Yosef Yitzchok Garelik, OB”M, who tragically passed at the young age of 12 after suffering from a brief illness.
