With great pain and sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Moshe Orenstein, OB”M, Mashpia Roshi in the Tzfas Yeshiva. He passed away on Shabbos, 11 Adar Alef. He was 67-years-old.
A week and half before his passing, Rabbi Orenstein had a severe heart attack. Many around the world added in Davening and saying Tehillim for his recovery.
Rabbi Orenstein was born on Gimmel Tammuz, 5711, in Eretz Yisroel. In his Yeshiva years he would come to the Kfar Chabad Yeshiva for visits, and eventually came close to Chabad. After many Farbrengens in the Yesihva, he decided to join the Kfar Chabad Yeshiva.
He was very close with the famous Mashpia, Reb Shlomo Chaim Kesselman, and then with Reb Mendel Futerfas. Rabbi Orenstein was well-known for his unbelievable understanding in Chassidus.
For many years he was the Mashpia Roshi in the Tzfas Yeshiva, and a Mashpia for the Tzfas community.
He is survived by his wife Zlata (nee Dubov) and children Rabbi Levi Orenstein – Chaifa; Rabbi Avrohom Orenstein – Arad; Mrs. Chaya Gittel Kratz – Tzfas; Mrs. Shterna Sara Posen – Tzfas; Mrs. Chana Yarchi, Rivkah and Nechama Dina.
