With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Motel (Mordechai) Zajac, OB”M, Shliach and longtime educator in S. Paulo, Brazil. He passed away on Shabbos, 11 Elul.
Rabbi Zajac was the Rov of the Sinagoga Beit Menachem in S. Paulo and a member of the Hanholo of Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Ohel Menachem Mendel.
He is the second generation of Shluchim to serve in the city since his father was sent on Shlichus by the Frierdiker Rebbe.
He is survived by his wife Rivkah and children, Rabbi Avrohom Meir Zajac – Los Angeles, CA; Rabbi Yossi Zajac – Montreal, Canada; Rabbi Shmuel Zajac – London, England; Mrs. Nechama Barber – Crown Heights; and Mrs. Basya Itzinger – London, England.
He is also survived by his brothers, R’ Meir Zajac, R’ Leibel Zajac, and R’ Yisroel Zajac, all of Brazil and sisters, Toba Izaak of Brazil and Perel Felberbaum of Eretz Yisroel.
He was predeceased by his sister Esther Lieberman, OB”M.
The levaya will take place Wednesday in Yerushalayim.
