With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Mrs. Gittel Rosenberg, OB”M, a longtime member and activist of the Lubavitch community of Montreal. She passed away on Friday, the 5th of Iyar. She was 86-years-old.
Mrs. Rosenberg was born in Montreal, in the year 1932, and she has been active there since her early years.
At the age of 19, Mrs. Rosenberg married Yishai Hakohen Rosenberg, a survivor of Auschwitz, and together they built a Chassidishe home.
In their later years, they moved to Eretz Yisroel, and for the past eight years she was living in Crown Heights, to be closer to her children.
She is survived by her three children, Rabbi Yitzchok Dovid Rosenberg – Montreal, Canada; Rabbi Avrohom Asher Rosenberg – Monsey, NY; and Mrs. Shaindy Schapiro – Crown Heights.
The Levaya will take place today, Friday at Shomrei Hadas in Boro Park at 3:30 pm. The Levaya will not be passing by 770, due to time constraint.
The Aron will be departing for burial right after Shabbos at JFK airport, 75 North Hangar Rd, Jamaica, NY.
Shiva will be at 618 Montgomery St.
