It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rafael ben Moshe, the young boy whose health struggles caught the attention and tugged at the heart of the entire Klal Yisroel.
Rafael was born with his intestines outside of his body and required surgeries immediately after birth. Miraculously, Rafael survived and spent several years being cherished by his family.
Unfortunately, Rafael’s condition required correction through more surgeries and he returned to surgery last week accompanied by the tefillos of Klal Yisroel all of whom poured out their hearts to daven for Rafael Shmuel ben Fraydel Miriam.
Though the surgery was a success Rafael’s vitals dropped and he was in critical condition for a few days before stabilizing slightly. Late last night, Rafael took another turn for the worse and returned his neshoma to its Maker early this morning. In his short time on earth, Rafael, with his sweet and childlike requests, was able to inspire hundreds and thousands of Jews to unite and daven and take on extra mitzvos as zechusim that will accompany him l’netzach.
The levaya will be held tomorrow morning at 9 A.M, in the Yeshiva Gedola of Montreal located on 6155 Deacon Road, Montreal, Quebec.
Shiva will begin in Montreal at 2525 Ekers, Montreal, Quebec.
